PHILADELPHIA, PA - The holiday season is always a magical time at St. Thomas Aquinas! On December 18, the kindergarten class at St. Thomas Aquinas had an unforgettable experience as they built and decorated festive gingerbread houses with the help of Families Behind the Badge Children's Foundation (FBBCF) and officers from the 17th Police District.

Laughter and joy filled the room as little hands carefully placed gumdrops, icing, and candy canes, creating their own edible masterpieces. But beyond the sweet treats and holiday cheer, this special event was a heartwarming display of community, connection, and generosity.

The event was made even more meaningful by the presence of FBBCF Executive Director Mark O'Connor and Board of Directors President Bob White, who rolled up their sleeves to assist our young scholars in bringing their gingerbread creations to life. Their involvement, along with the dedicated officers from the 17th Police District, highlighted the importance of strengthening relationships between law enforcement and the communities they serve.

Through their time, support, and kindness, these officers and FBBCF members showed the students that the holiday season is about more than just gifts—it's about coming together, fostering friendships, and giving back. Events like these help young learners see officers as mentors, friends, and positive role models, reinforcing the values of trust, kindness, and unity.
